Small DIY projects that bring a property up to date

Many people cannot afford to do large DIY projects in their home and find it hard to keep up with the current fashions in wallpaper, paint or furniture however there are ways to keep your property current without spending a fortune. There are many clever ways to avoid revamping your home every six months and these are;

- Paint your property a neutral colour such a magnolia or duck egg in order to create a blank canvas that can match anything.

- Buy furniture that is made to last; by initially spending money on good furniture you will save money in the future as it will last a lot longer. Avoid picking large statement pieces but those of which that will always be in fashion such as wooden items.

- Buy good pillows that will withstand the test of time and simply take the low budget option of replacing the covers when you want to change your colour scheme or pattern of your living room or bedroom.

- Pop candles around your room for a romantic and relaxing space, good candles will look even more rustic when they have started to melt.
