Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve listed common questions with relevant answers below. All categories are listed alphabetically…

Guarantees

Do you offer a guarantee?

By adhering to strict quality guidelines and ensuring complete satisfaction with every installation, Central Scotland Joinery have become Home Pro members (run by FairTrades.co.uk). As a result, this means that your installation comes with a ten year insurance backed guarantee.

Your guarantee remains valid in the unfortunate event Central Scotland Joinery was to cease trading for any reason.

How safe is my guarantee?

Central Scotland Joinery will provide every customer with a unique, insurance-backed ten year guarantee free of charge. This ensures that your guarantee lives on even if Central Scotland Joinery should cease to trade.

Are similar guarantees safe?

Not necessarily. By being a Home Pro member, Central Scotland joinery is backed by an insurer that is recognised by the Department of Trade and Industry. The guarantee also covers the customer if the company ceases to trade for any reason, not just insolvency.

Do you ask for a deposit?

For all window, door and roofline installations we do not request a deposit as there are generally no legal fees associated with this work (planning & building applications). However, for sunrooms and conservatories we do ask for 10% in advance.

If I move house, does the guarantee cover the new owners?

Your guarantee can be transferred to the new owners – a great benefit to you when you wish to sell too! All we ask is that you let us know, in writing, within 28 days of moving to your new home.

How do I know I can trust Central Scotland Joinery?

Every Home Pro member company must adhere to strict standards and is vetted to ensure it has good financial stability and working practices before being allowed to join. Only those companies that uphold the standards are allowed to continue as members.

Furthermore we have scanned testimonials of some of our customers and unrivalled reviews on independant websites. Please see our testimonials page for more information.

Environment

What poicies, if any, do you have in place to minimise the impact on the environment?

Absolutely! Please see our environment page for more information.

Installation

What areas of Scotland do you cover?

We’re proud to offer our services throughout Scotland, so whether you’re in John o’Groats or Galashiels we’ll visit you!

Can I trust the quality of materials used for my installation?

All frames used by Central Scotland Joinery are not only made of extrusion products from Veka directly, but also manufactured by a Veka fabricator member to ensure the quality and designs are second to none. All profiles are made from virgin UPVC, meaning we do not use recycled product.

How do you finish the windows and doors on the inside of my property?

A full timber finished is provided. Due to this, we take great care when choosing our timber supplier and where possible, all our timber is sourced from local, well-managed forests that are governed by accredited programs.

Pricing

Do you offer prices online?

The simple answer is no, and we’ve dedicated a bit of our website explaining why. Please see our cost of home improvments page for more information.
